La principal novedad de esta monografía descansa en su aproximación multidisciplinar a las colocaciones verbo-nominales en las lenguas clásicas. La obra subraya la importancia de estas construcciones en distintas áreas lingüísticas, aunque relacionadas. El volumen contienen once contribuciones de notables expertos en el campo, agrupadas en tres secciones principales que definen la estructura de la obra. La primera analiza las colocaciones latinas desde una aproximación tipológica y desde la lingüística cognitiva. La segunda lo hace desde campos tan diversos como la pragmática, la traducción o la didáctica. La tercera se aproxima a la cuestión desde un punto de partida diacrónico.


The main novelty of this monograph lies in a multidisciplinary approach to verb-noun collocations (or support verb constructions in a broad sense) in c1assicallanguages that emphasises the importance of these constructions with regard to a number of different although related linguistic areas. The volume includes eleven contributions by notable experts in the field, grouped together in the three main sections def’ming the book’s structure. The first section provides an analysis of Latin collocations from both typologïcal (Hoffmann) and cognitive Iinguistics approaches (Tur, De Felice & Fedriani, Salas). The second section deals with Latin collocations from linguistics fields as diverse as pragmatics (Tarriño), translation (Baños & Jiménez), stylistics (López Martín) or didactics (Taons), The tbird and final section of the monograph comprises three diachronic studies: the first two cover specific aspects of their renewal in Postclassical Greek (Vives & Madrigal) and in the evolution from Latin to the Romance languages (Jiménez Martínez & Melis), whereas the last one (Sanromán) provides an overview of diachronic studies of CVNs in Spanish.
